Another Big Hit!
Saturday’s second Lemhi County Farmers’ Market of the 2014 season was another huge success. The weather was a bit scary at times, but overall it was cooperative to the very end.
Father’s day at the Farmers’ Market was so exciting. The Salmon Arts Council was host to “Art in the Market”. Kids were making masks and there were artists on hand for face painting. It was such a joy to watch these kids dance with excitement and interact with the other children. Lots of picture taking going on. Live music was provided by Connie Delaney, Wayne Talmadge, Eric Frost and featuring Erica Frost. It was such a pleasure to have their music in the background as we visited the vendors and we thank them for a job well done. You are welcomed any time you choose to come back and play again.
This week’s market on June 21 will be such a great source for food and art. Watch for Booth 17, Swift River Farm, who is bringing in a variety of fresh picked produce including bok choy, chard, kale and a variety of fresh culinary herbs. Ask yourself some questions while purchasing your “key buys” at the market. Questions like “What is the name of your local farmer?” “What are their sustainable growing practices?” It is important to know the answers to these questions and you are encouraged to share this information on our website and Facebook page.
Booth 30, The Kitchen, is bringing to the market some fabulous Idaho cheese curds, cowboy caviar, fudge, breakfast burritos, nuts, honey and jam. Not to forget homemade cheesy focaccia bread, too.
Booth 1, Dylan Brewer, will be bringing in more repurposed items such as signs, home décor and furniture. Homemade cookies and jelly will also be on hand. Booth 5, Barton Blends Seasoning, will have some our very favorite seasonings. Plus Booth 3, PhotographyByJesse.com, is offering a discounted photo shoot session. Family portraits taken on location are only $50.00 this week plus 1 8×10.
Least we not forget about our newest addition to the Farmers’ Market: the Flea Market. July 4 & 5 will be our first market of this type. On July 4 the hours are 9 – 4pm while the hours for July 5 are 9 – 3 pm. Forms will be required to be completed prior to the market opening. Booth space is 12 x 12 and are going fast.
