It’s “Art at the Market” This Weekend
The first flea market of the Lemhi County Farms Market was nothing short of a huge success. Even the Farmers’ Market vendors brought their flea market items. Our next flea market will be August 16 and we hope to have an even larger group of vendors.
The Market would like to thank the Student Conservation Association for being on hand to assist the vendors with the off and on loading of vendor booths. SCA’s mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land. We would also like to thank Wilderness Ranger Rachel Kaufman for her educational booth as this is the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. Both of these organizations will be attending the market from time to time during the 2014 season.
This coming market of July 12 is being hosted by the Salmon Arts Council’s Art at the Market. Young artists can participate in a scrapbook “Make and Take” conducted by Sonja Sage and “Batik Quilting” presented by Ella Deutchman. Add a note to your calendar on July 19 as Brian Ernst will be returning to Salmon and performing throughout the day. Take a look at his website http://www.brianernstmusic.com and his non-profit organization http://www.journey4YOUth.com. He and his wife Katie travel all over the world performing, but when traveling here in the states they drive a modified school bus driven with vegetable oil. Definitely worth the effort to visit his YouTube posts about their journey in a veggie driven bus.
