Look What Is New at the Farmers’ Market
Thanks to a generous donation from the Kiwanis and private donation, the Lemhi County Farmers’ Market is able to extend a helping hand to recipients of the food stamp program. For a limited time clients can receive an additional $10.00 of funds for shopping at the market. Purchases of farm fresh produce, breads, eggs, jams, jelly, and meat are all available at the market. Please stop by the market manager’s booth for more information on how you can stretch your food budget each week.
With the success of our newly formed flea market, the Lemhi County Farmers’ Market is ready to launch another project. “From Field to Table” mixed with “Know the Old Ways” we would like to share with the community tips and tricks that we have learned along the way. The first demonstration will be August 2 presented by Lorhl Davis, owner of Herbs of the World. Lorhl will be sharing recipes of a variety of vinegar’s and their varied applications. Watch for further details about this and future “classes”.
This week’s vendor specials are antler toothpick holders from Rustic Knives and herb vinegar’s and homemade gluten free cookies from Just To Fun Designs. Diane is also working on a new “batch” of needle felted critters. Swift River Farms, Tower Creek Gardens, and West Wind Farms supplied your produce last week. Did you check out their tomatoes and cucumbers?
You can change your world and make it a better place by visiting the Lemhi County Farmer’s Market every week and supporting our local farmers and artisans. Be sure to “like” us on Facebook.
