Happy Salmon River Days!
Rain or shine, hot or cold the Lemhi County Farmers’ Market is hosting their second “Flea Market at the Park” on July 3 and 4 with extended hours on Friday until 4 pm and Saturday until 1 pm.
The Flea Market includes vendors with everything from fine art handmade jewelry to collectables. Even the Farmers’ Market vendors are bringing their flea market items. Booth space is still available for the flea market. It is a goal to enlarge the number of vendors each year. Please don’t forget to check out the informational booth of the Student Conservation Association. CSA’s mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land.
The Farmers’ Market has some of the best foods in town. Tamales, beans and rice for lunch as well as caramel corn for snacking as you stroll through the market. Watch for the cherry jams and jellies and cherry cobbler. Tasty breakfast burritos, hot coffee and lemonade are on hand as well. Pick up an order of biscuits and gravy or pancakes. The morning is the best time to pick up your freshly picked produce. Don’t forget your eggs and bread! Producers will have available red beets, lettuce, yellow and green beans, summer squash, tomatoes and more.
Wildwind Farm is introducing a new soap this week. Handmade with kelp meal and a honey scrub, it is great for problem skin as the kelp has lots of minerals and natural iodine to clear up sore spots and clean out clogged pores. Plus the honey provides extra moisture for these hot days.
Visiting face painting artists Romi and Kenna are returning to Salmon for both days under the Pavilion. Our local musical group, The Ebb and Flow, will be supplying wonderful background music on the 4th. A free spinal screening is available by Salmon Chiropractic. The market has beautiful furniture both new and repurposed for sale.
